Hill StationChikhaldara is a serene hill station located in the Satpura mountain range, close to the Melghat Tiger Reserve, making it unique among Maharashtra’s hill stations. It was developed during the British era and is named after “Chikalda”, a mud-filled valley mentioned in the epic Mahabharata.
The region is rich in biodiversity, dense forests, and scenic viewpoints overlooking valleys and ravines. Chikhaldara is the origin point of several rivers, including the Panchganga River. It is also known for coffee plantations, a rare feature in Maharashtra.
The weather remains pleasant throughout the year, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 30°C. The area offers a perfect blend of nature, wildlife, history, and tranquility, making it ideal for families, nature lovers, and photographers.
